It’s the question every driver asks before joining a platform: at the end of the day, how much actually stays in my pocket? The answer depends directly on a factor too often ignored — the commission model.

The problem with the per-ride commission model

On most ride-hailing platforms, the app takes a percentage of every ride — often 15 to 25%. A driver who completes a ride billed at 5,000 CDF only keeps part of it, the rest being retained by the platform. Multiplied across dozens of rides per day, this gap quickly becomes significant.

How the Piki Piki model works
